Who We Are
Our Team & Leadership
Pastor Shawn & Rebecca Plant
Shawn and Rebecca started Turning Point Church in 2008 and have served as pastors for fourteen years. They have four kids and one grandchild. Pastor Shawn is ordained through the United Pentecostal Church and serves as the North American Missions Director for the South Texas region. Shawn and Rebecca are animal lovers and have three parrots Tucker, Echo, and Pretty Bird.

Preston & Kelsey Gann
Preston and Kelsey have served Turning Point as Associate Pastors for two years. Both are graduates of Texas Bible College where Preston earned a degree in Theology and Kelsey earned a degree in Missions. They are both liscened ministers with the United Pentecostal Church International. Preston and Kelsey love visiting Rosenberg Library and taking their dog Finnegan on walks down seawall.
Our Mission
Turning Point Church of Galveston exists to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ namely to “seek and to save” those who are far from God and to create a space on Galveston Island where belivers of all backgrounds can fulfill their God-given purpose.
Our Vision
Our vision for both our church and city is spread the love God has for Galveston across the Island. To help the hurting and hungry, to reach for people of all backgrounds, to create a culture on Galveston Island that relfects Jesus Christ. We really believe that God Loves Galveston and we want to show that we love Galveston like He loves Galveston.
Our Method
We will fulfill our mission and vision by providing exciting and engaging opportunities for Galvestonians to EXPERIENCE the power of God in a real and tangible way and by creating a culture that EMPOWERS and EQUIPS christians of all ages and backgrounds to become active in EVANGILISM.

The following are the core beliefs of TURNING POINT CHURCH based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these biblical doctrines. Our Core Values are who we are. They are not just what we do, they are part of our DNA.

What we believe
Turning Point Church Of Galveston is a Pentecostal church founded on the first church birthed in the Book of Acts. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth. He has revealed Himself as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. God ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and healings.

We are a spirit filled church that believes that the new testament experience is available to you today.

At Turning Point Church we believe that every person has a unique and God given purpose. We empower individuals to discover and fulfill their purpose by encouraging and supporting all members to discover their purpose by providing a fun and engaging Connect Group community where you can connect with belivers with common interests and by providing avenues for members to volunteer.
Equip
Through dynamic and informative teaching Turning Point Church equips all members to fulfill their unique and God-given purpose. Turning Point provides resources and specialized training to help individuals who desire to grow in leadership and service.
